The Celiac Disease Consortium (CDC) is one of the Genomics centres supported by the Netherlands Genomics Initiative (NGI). The CDC started on 1 January 2004. The CDC received a BSIK grant of €7,7 million for the first six years and a NGI grant of €4 million that will extend the consortium until 2012. These grants finance half of the costs of the work done by the CDC, the remaining costs must be financed in other ways either from direct funding by the participant or resources received from third parties.

The management structure of CDC comprises the following bodies:

  • The Project Management Team is the executive body for the management of the project and liaison to the NGI. The members of the project management team are the CEO, the operational manager and the workpackage leaders.
  • The Steering Board, is the ultimate decision-making body consists of one representative of each partner and is chaired by the CEO. The steering board shall be responsible for the overall direction of the Project.
  • The Scientific Advisory Board will be asked to give independent advice to the Steering Board about the scientific projects.
  • The TTO will coordinate the valorization activities of the CDC.
